Welcome to Graduate Studies in the Department of Modern Languages and Linguistics at FSU. The department offers Master of Arts, Master of Science, and doctoral degrees in several languages. M.A. degrees are offered in East Asian Languages and Cultures, French, German, Italian, Slavic and Spanish; an M.S. degree is offered in computational linguistics; and Ph.D. degrees are offered in French and Spanish. Within the Spanish program, students can concentrate in Hispanic linguistics and Hispanic literature and studies. Our well-trained faculty members strive to be both renowned specialists in their fields and contribute to an intellectually stimulating interdisciplinary atmosphere in the department. Faculty members are actively involved in all aspects of graduate studies, including advising, mentoring, and providing support through recommendations, nominations and job placement assistance.
