Her research interests include women’s writing, poetry, and the relationship between poetry and the visual arts. She has published essays on Giacomo Leopardi and Eugenio Montale.

Her current research focuses on Faustina Maratti Zappi (1679–1745), a prominent figure in the cultural circles of early eighteenth-century Rome and one of the most highly regarded poets of the Academy of Arcadia. Her project aims to provide a monographic study of Maratti Zappi, combining a biographical reconstruction with an analysis of her literary production and an investigation of the relationship between her writing and the cultural context of her time. Her approach is informed by a gender perspective that examines the specific position of a woman writer in early eighteenth-century Italy, as well as themes that particularly characterize Maratti Zappi’s work, including female models of virtue, gender-based violence, and motherhood.
