Enrique Álvarez (Ph.D, University of Illinois Urbana/Champaign 2004) is an Associate Professor of Spanish. He specializes in 20th century Spanish poetry, and he is the author of Dentro/Fuera. El espacio homosexual masculino en la poesía Española del s. XX (Madrid: Biblioteca Nueva, 2010). Through the intersection of queer studies and postmodern sociology, in this book Dr. Álvarez explores the relationship between poetic form, representation of space, and male homosexuality in writings by Federico García Lorca, Luis Cernuda, Jaime Gil de Biedma, and Luis Antonio de Villena.
