Master's Degree in Data Science: Computational Linguistics

Starting Fall 2025, FSU’s MS degree in Data Science will introduce a new major: Computational Linguistics. The new major positions students for success in a rapidly evolving field, where expertise in language technology and data science drives career potential across industries. Students will gain in-demand skills in language data analysis, computational methods, and AI applications, preparing them for roles across industry and government. The program emphasizes the foundational principles of language data and its applications in cutting-edge language technology.

FSU provides a unique environment for academic pursuits, combining the benefits of a campus university with a vibrant community. FSU offers many opportunities for growth, collaboration, and discovery through dynamic venues such as the AI seminar, the Innovation Hub, and a diverse array of student organizations. Located in the heart of Tallahassee, a lively mid-sized city in Florida’s Panhandle, students can enjoy a unique climate and lifestyle, and an exceptional balance of affordability and quality of life.
