Dr. Aly has been a Teaching Professor of Arabic for more than twenty years internationally and in the US. She is an OPI-certified tester, licensed NC educator, coordinator of the Arabic placement test and summer Arabic at UNC, and the Dean of Al-Waha 2023.
Dr. Aly joined FSU as a Teaching Faculty member, teaching the first and second years of Arabic, conducting the first Arabic placement test, and facilitating the Arabic Language house activities such as Arab cuisine, Arab music, Arab dance, Henna, Calligraphy, baby shower, weddings and celebrations, traditions, customs, and Arab proverbs. Dr. Aly also conducted the Arabic talent show every semester in addition to a coming competition of the best Arab dish and calligraphy by the Arabic Language House students.
Dr. Aly has left her mark at various institutions, including Johns Hopkins University, Aarhus University in Denmark, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, University of South Carolina, University of Montana, and the American University in Cairo, Middlebury College, Monterey Institute, Queens University, Concordia College, UNC Greensboro, Fayetteville State University, NCvirtual, and Fort Liberty Military base. Currently, she is contributing her expertise at Florida State University, teaching at the college level, military bases, and K-12 online schools.
Dr. Aly has PhD in Education, a Master's in Arts in TAFL, a BA in Archeology with Honors, a BA in Educational Technology, a Graduate Diploma in Arabic and Islamic studies, and many academic awards.
Research Interests
Arabic as a Foreign Language, linguistics, Archeology, Egyptology, Islamic studies and Arab cultures.

- All levels of Modern Standard Arabic, elementary, intermediate and advanced.
- Egyptian and Levantine dialects.
- Media Arabic and Introduction to the Arab cultures.
